Summary

Htmlify.dev provides free, browser-based file conversion tools. Files you upload (Word documents, CSV, JSON, Markdown) are processed entirely in your browser and are never sent to our servers. We collect a minimum amount of usage data through Google Analytics so we can understand which tools people use.

What data we process

1. Files you convert

Conversion runs in your browser via JavaScript libraries (such as Mammoth.js, Papa Parse, and Marked). Your files are not uploaded to our servers and we have no access to their contents.

2. Analytics cookies

We use Google Analytics (measurement ID G-5YSX54RHD1) to measure aggregate page views and tool usage. Google Analytics sets cookies that may include a randomly generated client identifier, page paths visited, approximate location (country/region), device type, and browser version. We do not collect names, email addresses, or any personally identifying information through this service.

You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

3. Third-party advertising (if applicable)

We may use Google AdSense and other third-party advertising partners in the future. When ads are served, these partners may use cookies (including the DoubleClick DART cookie) to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites on the Internet. You can opt out of personalized advertising at google.com/settings/ads and aboutads.info/choices. Users in the EEA/UK will be presented with a consent prompt before any personalized advertising cookies are set.

4. Server logs

Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) may automatically log standard request metadata such as IP address, user agent, and timestamp for security and abuse prevention. These logs are retained for a limited period and are not linked to individual users.

Cookies we set

  • _ga, _ga_* — Google Analytics, used to distinguish unique visitors and sessions. Expires after up to two years.
  • theme — Local preference for light/dark mode. Stored in localStorage, never transmitted to a server.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (GDPR for the EEA/UK, CCPA for California, and similar laws elsewhere), you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data we hold about you. Because we do not collect personally identifying information through this site, in most cases we have no data to deliver, correct, or delete. Children

Htmlify.dev is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
